We're doing this amazing dance with these beautiful skirts and leotards. My skirt is pink, and leotard blue. Here are some facts about Brazil 1. The capital of the country is Brasilia 2. The estimated population is over 183, 888, 841 people.  Here is the poster for the production

Maths Talk at HoonHay School

At our school, we work with a maths mate and share our thinking with them. We ask questions about our maths and if we aren't sure of something, we explain how we do it. We know that 2 brains are often better than one and we enjoy working collaboratively.
Today ......and I worked on solving this problem

Ben, Ryley and Olie did some gardening chores for their parents and earned themselves $8 each. How much did they earn altogether? here is me and maths mates here is our working out

The Museum

                                      The museum!

Hi on the 13th of June me and my class went to the Museum and Art Gallery to learn about the sun and solar energy.

At the museum, we met  Anthony. He was our educator and guide. First, he took us to the sun exhibit. There was a huge inflated sun but I didn't go in. Also, there was this running thing where you run into a wall (by the way the wall is soft so nobody got hurt).  Back to the wall when you ran into the wall you got to see how many days it would take for you to run to the moon - it would take me 1,525 days.
This is my group rubbing greenstone  - it was so smooth

Here is one of my favourite art pieces
I liked it because it all goes in separate  ways

Poetry

In writing I have used a poem by James K. Baxter as a starting point to write my own holiday poem. I hope you like it.

Sarah’s James K baxter poem
The hot beach was usual enough;
It had boiling  sand, the sea, shells, tents and even  seaweed.
My mum, jack and I did what people do at the beach do -
eating,  going in the water, swimming, making sand castles, and collecting shells
Doing nothing important.
